Laser Thread Vein Removal
Fine red thread veins and spider veins on the face and body, treated with the Alma Harmony XL Pro laser
Thread veins, sometimes called spider veins, are tiny blood vessels close to the surface of the skin that show as fine red or purple lines, often around the nose, across the cheeks or on the chin. We treat them with the Harmony XL Pro by Alma. Its laser light is absorbed by the blood in the vein and turns to heat, which closes the vein so it can fade as your body clears it away. Small areas take a matter of minutes, and your consultation and patch test are free.

What to Expect
Preparation
Your first visit is a free consultation and patch test, so your practitioner can look at your veins and check how your skin responds. Avoid sun, sunbeds and fake tan on the area for at least two weeks before treatment, and tell us about any medicines, as some make the skin more sensitive to light. Many clients choose autumn and winter, when it is easier to keep treated skin out of the sun.
Your Treatment
You wear eye protection throughout. Your practitioner guides the small laser tip along each vein and delivers short pulses of light. Alma describes the treatment as causing minimal pain, and most people feel a quick sting or a flick of warmth with each pulse. Small areas take a matter of minutes.
Aftercare
The area may look a little red or swollen for a few hours to a couple of days, and some veins look darker at first before they fade over the following weeks. Wear SPF 30 to 50 every day and keep the area out of the sun, and for a few days avoid hot baths, saunas, intense exercise and active skincare such as retinol on the treated skin.
