Mr Darryl Coombes
Mr Coombes is a consultant surgeon who works solely on the face, head and neck, and he carries out every surgical procedure offered by The Beauty Aesthetics Group. He qualified in both dentistry and medicine at King's College London, trained in oral and maxillofacial surgery at major NHS centres including Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead, and spent ten years as a consultant there before dedicating his time to private practice, with a particular interest in aesthetic facial surgery.
He developed the Apex Facelift®, still carries out facial skin cancer surgery for the NHS in Sussex and Kent, and lectures and trains other surgeons in rhinoplasty and head and neck skin cancer.
You will meet him at your private consultation, where he will examine you, listen to what you would like to change and explain honestly what surgery can and cannot achieve. In surgery, he is assisted by Tanisha, a student nurse and founder of the Group.

Apex Facelift®
A facelift developed by Mr Coombes, performed under local anaesthetic and designed to reduce sagging in the lower face and neck for a natural, rejuvenated look. It usually takes 90 to 120 minutes and can be combined with upper eyelid surgery.

Removes excess skin from the upper eyelids for a fresher, more open look. Usually carried out under local anaesthetic.

Aftercare massage with Sharon, who has over 20 years' experience in post-operative care, at our Chichester, Petersfield and Bognor clinics.
Post-Operative Facial Lymphatic Drainage
Gentle facial and neck lymphatic drainage, working around your incisions, never over them. Mr Coombes recommends seeing Sharon from seven days after surgery, then weekly until you are happy with how the swelling has settled.

A post-operative massage programme that builds on lymphatic drainage, with scar massage once your wounds have fully healed. £120 a session, £750 for a course of 8 or £900 for a course of 10.

Good aftercare is part of your surgery. Mr Coombes recommends that his patients see Sharon, who has over 20 years' experience in post-operative care, from seven days after surgery, then weekly until you are happy with how the swelling has settled.
Facial lymphatic drainage uses very light, slow movements designed to ease swelling and help you feel more comfortable, working around your incisions, never over them. After an Apex Facelift®, Mr Coombes recommends RF microneedling, Sofwave or SkinPen from six weeks after surgery, to help preserve your results.
Your surgery takes place at Eastergate, and your aftercare sessions can be booked at our Chichester, Petersfield or Bognor clinics.

Do you offer skin treatments after a facelift?
Yes. After an Apex Facelift®, Mr Coombes recommends RF microneedling, Sofwave or SkinPen from six weeks after surgery, to help preserve your results. Your practitioner will check that your skin is ready before your first session and help you choose the right one as part of your longer-term skin plan.
Could a non-surgical treatment work instead?
Sometimes. Some concerns can be improved with non-surgical treatments such as anti-wrinkle injections, fillers or skin tightening, and you are welcome to ask about these at your consultation.
