PRP (platelet-rich plasma) and PRF (platelet-rich fibrin) treatments are prepared from your own blood. A small sample is taken from your arm and spun in a centrifuge to separate it and concentrate the platelets and growth factors. PRF also contains a fibrin matrix and releases its growth factors more slowly than PRP. The concentrate is then applied with microneedling or injected, often with a blunt cannula, to support collagen and skin quality on the face, under the eyes or on the breasts. What to Expect
Preparation
Your consultation checks that treatment is suitable and which option suits you. A small blood sample is taken on the day, so stay well hydrated beforehand, and for PRF Under Eyes we ask you to drink a bottle of Lucozade one hour before your appointment. Tell us about any medicines you take, particularly blood thinners, and do not stop a prescribed medicine without speaking to your GP.
Your Treatment

Aftercare
Redness, swelling and bruising at the treated area are possible, particularly after injections under the eyes. Your practitioner will explain how long these are likely to take to settle, and the aftercare to follow. Any change develops gradually over several weeks, and results vary from person to person.
