Wood therapy, sometimes called maderotherapy, is a massage that uses shaped wooden tools such as rollers, cups and contoured paddles. At our Chichester clinic, your therapist works over each area with firm strokes in the direction of the lymphatic system. It is designed to encourage lymphatic drainage and ease the feeling of puffiness, and it can leave the skin looking smoother for a short time.

It is often chosen for the thighs, bottom, stomach and arms. Wood Therapy Body Contouring is £75 for a 70 minute session, and because any change in how the body looks is temporary, it is often booked as a series. It also sits naturally alongside our lymphatic drainage massage, which starts at £45.

The pressure is firmer than a relaxation massage, and we adjust it to what feels comfortable for you. Your first visit starts with a consultation, so please tell us if you are pregnant, have had surgery recently, take blood thinning medicines, bruise easily, or have varicose veins or a current or past blood clot, as wood therapy may not be suitable. Results vary from person to person.
