The Recovery Expert Programme is usually 8 to 10 sessions, spread across the weeks before and after surgery, often two to three a week, and adjusted to your surgeon's advice and how your body responds.
It builds on lymphatic drainage, but it is planned specifically around your surgery. As well as gentle drainage, sessions can include scar massage, tape and dressing changes and light therapy, and they follow your surgeon's instructions throughout.
Only with your surgeon's agreement. Wood therapy uses firmer pressure, so it is not used in the early weeks. It waits until your wounds have fully healed and the swelling has settled. We never use light therapy over open, infected or bleeding skin.
