Lip Lift

Lip Lift with Mr Darryl Coombes
With age, the space between the nose and the upper lip can lengthen, and the upper lip can look thinner and show less of the teeth. A lip lift removes a small strip of skin just below the nose to shorten this space and lift the upper lip.
The scar sits in the natural crease beneath the nose. Unlike lip filler, a lip lift changes the position and shape of the lip rather than adding volume.

Recovery after your lip lift
Mr Coombes advises that swelling usually settles over three to five days, and that most people return to normal activities within seven to ten days.
Mr Coombes recommends that his patients see Sharon, our post-operative care specialist, from seven days after surgery for gentle lymphatic drainage, then weekly until you are happy with how the swelling has settled. Sessions can be at our Chichester, Petersfield or Bognor clinics.
As with any surgery, there are risks, including bleeding, infection, bruising, swelling, changes in sensation, scarring, asymmetry and, occasionally, the need for further treatment. Mr Coombes will explain the risks that apply to you at your consultation.

Lip Lift: your questions
Is a lip lift the same as lip filler?
No. Lip filler adds volume, while a lip lift is surgery that shortens the space beneath the nose and changes the position of the upper lip. Some people choose both.
